If you have been reading my blog, you are probably well aware of my goals to become a writer. I love to write poetry and prose, and have always dreamed of an opportunity to make some real accomplishments with my writing.
I have recently been given what I consider a once in lifetime opportunity to travel to Vermont for a month long writer’s residency. I applied almost on a whim, but after my acceptance, it is all I can think about.
I am looking for any help I can get to help me get to Vermont. Please read my message and consider donating to my gofundme campaign.
If gofundme isn’t for you, please help me get there by purchasing my publications.
Any and all help is appreciated and welcome.
Dearest Family and Friends,
I have the honor of being accepted to the Vermont Studio Center for a month long writing residency. Participing in a writing residency, especially one of this magnitude, has always been a dream of mine. I believe it will give me the time and focus to complete the two novels I am currently working on, as well as create new work and experience life as a profressional writer.
Unfortunately, there are a few expenses that go with attending the program for which I am not currently budgeted. I will need to pay my own travel expenses, I will be unable to work for the month of the residency, and, although given a generous scholarship for the program, it is not a full scholarship and I will need to pay the difference out of pocket.
This is a selfish request. I am not raising money for Swimming with Elephants Publications, nor am I raising money for a youth comunity or poetry workshops as I have done in the past. This fund is to help me realize one of my dreams.
If I reach my goal, I will be able to attend the residency and hopefully create something really special, as well as develop skills I can bring back for our local writing community.
If you can find it in your pocket books to spare some extra funds and help me attend this once in a lifetime opportunity, please donate to my campaign. I would be extremely appreciative and grateful for any and all contributions.
